Itinerary

1 Arrival in Kathmandu
Transfer to Gokarna Resort by private vehicle. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, and after completing visa and immigration formalities, our team will be waiting for you at the airport exit with a sign. You will be offered a flower lei, and a short car transfer will take you to Gokarna Forest Resort. As its name suggests, this resort is located in the forest, far from the hustle and bustle of the city center. Ancient Nepalese kings used to hunt in the forest here. A winding road leads up through the woods to the hotel entrance, which features a subtle blend of Malla and Rana royal architecture that harmonizes beautifully with the surrounding nature. This haven of peace, complete with a spa and golf course, will be a welcome respite from the fatigue of your long flight.
2 Guided tour of the Kathmandu Valley
A trip to Nepal and Kathmandu isn't complete without a visit to the valley and its rich cultural heritage. Today's itinerary includes Bhaktapur's Durbar Square, a Newar city that has preserved its medieval style with its numerous pagoda temples. After lunch, we return to Kathmandu, visiting the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, famous for its cremations on the banks of the Bagmati River. The final visit will be to the immense Buddhist stupa of Bodhnath. At the end of the day, Tibetan refugees and local Buddhists perform their daily kora (circling the stupa clockwise while saying their rosaries). At the end of the visit, we return to the Gokarna.
3 Flight Kathmandu- Pokhara (25 minutes flight in Jetstream-41)
After breakfast, a short transfer will take you to the airport about an hour before your Yeti Airlines Jetstream flight to Pokhara. This flight skirts the Himalayan range, offering spectacular views of the Ganesh Himal and Manaslu massifs before entering central Nepal, dominated by the Annapurna massif. A representative from Ker & Downey will meet you at the exit of the small airport and provide information about the rest of your trek.
3 Road transfer to Lumle, Trek 1 > Birethanti (1100m)
The local team will drive you north of Pokhara to the Gurung village of Lumle, 30 km away. Leaving the vehicle, the trek begins, crossing the cobbled street of this village situated at 1585m. At the edge of the village, the track curves and descends to Chandrakot, a charming village perched at the end of a ridge at 1550m, offering superb views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchare, a mountain easily recognizable by its fishtail peak. After a picnic lunch, the trek resumes on a dusty track, descending in a fairly steep zigzag to the Modi River flowing at the bottom of the valley. Birethanti is a charming village at the confluence of two rivers. A few hundred meters further on, you'll arrive at the Sanctuary Lodge for a well-deserved rest.
4 Trek > Majgaun (1400m)
After a hearty breakfast, you'll need to reach the village of Majgaon today. The trail crosses the Modi River on a suspension bridge (they are numerous in this country with its rugged terrain) and then winds its way up and down through terraced fields and a forested area. Upon arrival, you'll settle into the Gurung Lodge, a peaceful and charming setting. In the afternoon, a short visit to the local museum in Tanchok offers a glimpse into the Gurung culture of the past.
5 Trek > Dhampus (1650m)
If you're an early riser, you can admire the stunning sunrise over Annapurna South and Machapuchare before a hearty breakfast. The hike is uphill through oak and rhododendron forests to a small pass at approximately 2000m. On the other side of this pass, you can see the large village of Dhampus, stretching along the entire ridge. This village offers a unique panoramic view of the entire nearby Annapurna massif. On a clear day, the sunset is magnificent. Overnight at Basanta Lodge.
Trek > Phedi (1080m), road transfer to Pokhara.
This is the final stage at the foot of the Annapurna massif, and today it's all downhill to the road at the base of the hill, through a forest and cultivated area. Upon arrival at Gattey Khola, your vehicle will be waiting to take you to Pokhara. Depending on flight schedules, lunch can be enjoyed by Pokhara Lake. This city is much quieter than the capital and offers numerous restaurants with gardens. If your flight is in the afternoon, it's also possible to take a boat trip on the lake to visit the temple located on a small island in the middle of the lake. Overnight at Temple Tree.
7 Road transfer to Bandipur (1000m) 4h 30 drive,
We leave the city of lakes with a final look at the Annapurna massif, which has been our companion throughout the trek. Bandipur is a Newar town perched on a hill at an altitude of 1000 meters, offering a superb panoramic view from west to east of the Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang massifs. This village receives few tourists and is a true haven of peace. Overnight at the Old Inn in Bandipur.
8 Bandipur – Seti River Camp
After breakfast, we descend leisurely to the Jhapri River, then gradually ascend through beautiful forests and villages. It is highly recommended to carry plenty of water, as we won't find any along the way until we reach the village of Jyamire. A few more climbs and we arrive at the village of Dhamalgaon, where our camp is located. The camp offers a beautiful view of the Himalayan range. In the afternoon, your guide will arrange a visit to a Gurung village, with the opportunity to enjoy traditional Gurung dances. 3 hours of walking. As the camp on the banks of the Seti River is inaccessible by road, the surrounding area remains pristine. On the descent to our camp, you can admire numerous birds and get a glimpse of village life. Upon arrival at the camp, everyone settles into their premium safari tent. After showering, it is possible to take a short walk in the forest or to relax by the Seti River, enjoying the tranquility and peace of this beautiful place.
9 Seti River Camp – Chitwan (150 m)
After breakfast, we meet the rafting guide team for a briefing. Once on the water, you'll be able to admire numerous birds and get a glimpse of the daily life of the villagers along the riverbanks. The Seti River has five Class II rapids, up to 50 meters long, and it takes us almost three hours to reach Gaighat, where we meet our vehicle which takes us to the Kasara Jungle Resort, outside Chitwan National Park. Upon arrival, we'll have a briefing for the afternoon safari. 3 hours of rafting and 1.5 hours of driving. Overnight at the Kasara Jungle Resort (27°33’48.78″ N 84°20’32.96″ E) or at the VARAHI.
10 Chitwan (B, L, D)
The entire day is dedicated to activities in Chitwan National Park: elephant rides in search of rhinos, Bengal tigers (if you're lucky), deer, birds… canoeing on the river, jungle walks, elephant rides, jeep tours, etc. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Tharu dance, the original inhabitants of the Terai region. Overnight at Kasara Jungle Resort (27°33’48.78″ N 84°20’32.96″ E) or VARAHI
